But, Iv'e finally got one or two instruments up for sale! Why it has taken so long I don't know, I guess I must have been busy....{thin excuse} Anyway, now i have done it there will be more to follow, honest.
I guess we didn't think when all this Covid 19 stuff started that we would still be in the same boat all these months on, but here I am, still teaching online, getting square eyed every day, and suffering from traumatic headphone head.Sticky out hair and hot ears! I think we are all getting a bit worn down by it all, the goalposts moving all the time, the idiots out there, and the political bickering. I have pretty well stopped watching the news for now.
In the workshop things have got a bit quiet, but the view from the window is as calming and pretty as ever. As Autumn progresses, the colours change, the heater goes on and the workshop is a cosy oasis of peace from the madness outside.

It was a good feeling to have customer from the early 2000's bringing me a flute I had sold them from the shop for an overhaul, before it was sent out to Canada to be reunited with its owner as a surprise. I hope she will get a good few years more out of it. Look after your instrument, don't get too precious about them, and keep them serviced is the key.
Interestingly, I had a newish instrument on the bench after it had suffered a mishap falling off a stand that wasn't there. Whilst sorting out the damage, I could see the accountants had been influencing the design, plastic where metal was previously used, and an altogether more flimsy feel to things. Such a shame when the name stamp had a good reputation. It explains why I can still service a 30 or 40 year old instrument and it still has plenty of life in it. Grumble over.
